What does an independent insurance agent do?
An independent agent is licensed to sell policies from several insurance companies instead of just one. I compare those carriers for your situation, explain the differences in coverage and price, help you apply, and stay your point of contact for questions, changes, claims help and renewals.
Does it cost more to buy insurance through an agent?
No. I don't charge fees for quotes or service. Agents are paid a commission by the insurance company, and that is already built into the carrier's rates, so you pay the same premium the carrier charges for that policy.
Which areas do you serve?
I'm based in Pikesville and most of my clients live in Maryland, including Baltimore City and Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Carroll and Harford counties. I'm also licensed in Washington, DC, Virginia, Delaware and Illinois.
How do I get a quote?
Call 410-996-4757 or email ak@akinsurancepartners.com. A copy of your current declarations page makes it fast, because it shows your coverage, limits and deductibles. For auto, I'll also need each driver's name, date of birth and license number, plus each vehicle's VIN.
Can I bundle my home and auto insurance?
Usually, yes. Most carriers discount home and auto written together, and keeping both with one company can make claims and renewals simpler. A bundle isn't always the cheapest option, though, so I quote both ways and show you the numbers.
